Democratic Candidate
for Ward 18

My Priorities
Affordability
I believe in keeping Ward 18 an affordable place to live so people can stay in their homes. Our city is also facing an affordable housing shortage; I believe we need to work to support initiatives to build more affordable and safe housing in New Haven.

Environment
I believe that New Haven can and should be a more sustainable city. I will work to support initiatives which reduce the City's impact on the environment and combat climate change.

Parks
East Shore has some of the most beautiful and heavily utilized parks in the city. I will advocate to better preserve and maintain our parks with a focus on addressing overdue maintenance.

Education
I believe we need to fully fund our city schools and will work with teachers and parents to help our students succeed inside and outside the classroom. Our teachers need access to supplies and to research-based instructional materials rooted in the science of literacy and learning.

Tweed
Tweed has a significant impact on quality of life in the East Shore. I will advocate to help ensure that Tweed and Avports respect the community and our environment. This means working transparently with neighbors on issues such as traffic, noise, and air pollution.

Safety
I will to work to keep Ward 18 a safe and welcoming place to live, for everyone, including our LGBTQIA+ neighbors and neighbors born outside the U.S. I will focus on addressing our issues with road safety, after hours park use, and property crime.

Jobs
Good jobs with good benefits help our city thrive and lift people out of poverty. I will work to support small businesses, good jobs, and ensure local employers hire from our communities

A Fully Funded City
New Haven is home to one of the most wealthy universities in the U.S. but faces difficulties with vital services and poverty. I will work to ensure that New Haven is fully funded so it can provide vital services such as education, senior support, youth opportunities, and housing.
